Raccoon Oral Rabies Vaccination Project Underway Until September 30th

The 2021 Raccoon Oral Rabies Vaccination Project, supported by Anne Arundel County, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Wildlife Services and the County Police Department began on August 26. It will be completed by September 30, weather permitting. The goal of the annual ORV project is to immunize thousands of wild raccoons by placing approximately 84,500 baits containing rabies vaccine throughout Anne Arundel County, Maryland. It helps prevent the spread of rabies.  More info on the project and a wildlife sighting report form are available at https://www.aahealth.org/orv/ .

I received the following note from the County today:

We are proud to announce that Anne Arundel County's draft Green Infrastructure Master Plan and draft Green Infrastructure Network Map are now available for public review and comment. Comments will be accepted until midnight on Sunday, September 26, 2021.

Please view and comment on the draft Master Plan and Map at www.aacounty.org/greeninfrastructure

You can also attend a virtual public meeting on the draft Master Plan on Thursday, September 8 at 6:00 PM. Click here to register

After County staff review and address public comments, the draft Green Infrastructure Plan will be presented to the Planning Advisory Board this fall where there will be another opportunity for public input. The Master Plan will then be presented to the County Council which has the authority to amend and adopt it. The public can testify to the County Council as well.

Please share this email and attached flier with organizations and groups you are involved with, neighbors, family, and friends. The more people we hear from, the more this draft Plan can reflect the perspectives of all of Anne Arundel County.

Thank you!
